FLINT is hiring local Heavy Equipment Operators for a full-time, permanent role based in Fort McMurray, Alberta, starting July 2025. This position is ideal for candidates with at least 2000 hours of haul truck or articulating truck experience in open pit mining. Working a 6/6 schedule with 11.5-hour shifts, operators will contribute to safe, efficient haulage operations at an industrial mining site. While this role does not include camp, travel, or living out allowance, it offers benefits after 300 hours worked and is well-suited for candidates residing in the Fort McMurray region.

As a Haul Truck Operator, you will play a key role in supporting FLINT's mining operations by operating heavy equipment safely and efficiently.
- Operate haul or articulating trucks to transport material across the mining site
- Perform pre-trip inspections and report maintenance needs
- Maintain consistent productivity while following haul routes and supervisor directions
- Comply with all health, safety, and environmental procedures and protocols
- Train on additional equipment when requested
- Communicate clearly with team members and site supervisors
Requirements
FLINT is looking for reliable, experienced haul truck operators who meet safety and operational standards for work in an open pit mine.
- Minimum 2000+ hours on Haul Truck or Articulating Truck in open pit mining
- Valid CSO (Common Safety Orientation) certificate
- Physically fit to manage long hours and demanding site conditions
- Ability to train on new equipment when needed
- Proficient English communication skills
- Clean 3-year driver's abstract with fewer than 9 demerits
