North American Construction Group (NACG) is hiring experienced Haul Truck Operators for work at the Kearl site in Fort McMurray, AB. This opportunity offers a structured rotation of 14 days on and 14 days off, including night shifts. Camp accommodations are provided, and flights are available from Edmonton or Calgary, with bus transportation from Fort McMurray to the site. The role involves operating rigid frame haul trucks ranging from 100-ton to 400-ton ultra-class models in a mining or heavy construction environment. This is a unionized position under IUOE Local 955.

Responsibilities
The Haul Truck Operator will be responsible for safely operating rigid frame haul trucks in a mining environment.
- Operate haul trucks ranging from 100-ton to 400-ton ultra-class models
- Complete pre-use equipment inspections
- Conduct field-level risk and hazard assessments
- Safely fuel and service equipment
- Follow mine driving rules and interact with loading and dumping equipment
- Comply with all company, client, and legislated safety policies
- Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Review safe work plans and hazard assessments before beginning tasks
- Report equipment issues to maintenance teams
- Immediately report incidents, near misses, or damages
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have experience operating rigid frame haul trucks in a mining or heavy construction environment.
- Minimum 1 year of experience operating rigid frame haul trucks (100-ton to 400-ton ultra-class)
- Experience with mechanical (Caterpillar) or electric (Komatsu) haul trucks (777/785/789)
- At least 1 year in a mining or heavy construction earthworks environment (preferred)
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License with a recent acceptable abstract
- Proficiency in English (verbal and written)
- Valid CSO Certification
- Wood Buffalo Wildlife Awareness or Energy Safety Canada Wildlife Awareness (including Bear Awareness)
- Must comply with respiratory protective equipment requirements
- High school diploma, GED, or post-secondary education (preferred)
