Haul Truck Operator - Greenstone Gold Mines - Camp Permanent 8 Hour Days
Greenstone Gold Mines LP, a joint venture operated by Equinox Gold Corp, is hiring a Haul Truck Operator Swap for its high-capacity open-pit gold operation at Greenstone Mine in Geraldton, Ontario. Now in production as of May 2024, the mine will produce approximately 400,000 ounces of gold annually. This permanent position focuses on operating and swapping haul trucks during operator breaks and includes responsibilities such as safe truck handling, basic refueling and cleaning, and accurate haul tracking. The role is based on-site with company-provided transportation and camp accommodations.

The Haul Truck Operator Swap will support the mining fleet operations by safely handling large haul trucks during operator breaks and ensuring efficient and accurate load movements across the site.
- Operate large mine haul trucks safely and efficiently per site policies
- Swap trucks for operator breaks as part of scheduled rotation
- Complete Field Level Risk Assessments before operation
- Clean operator cabin and refill fluids as needed
- Fill out logbooks and daily production/safety reports
- Track load sources and destinations accurately
- Use two-way radios and signals for communication with site personnel
- Haul aggregates, sand, rock, and snow to designated areas
- Monitor gauges and equipment indicators; report issues promptly
Requirements
Applicants must have heavy equipment training and the ability to work independently in a safety-focused, team-based mining environment.
- Heavy Equipment Operator training required
- Valid Ontario G1 or higher driver's license
- Ontario Surface Common Core an asset
- Experience in a mine site environment preferred
- Strong safety commitment and hazard awareness
- Ability to follow instructions and perform repetitive tasks
- Good communication skills, verbal and written
- Self-motivated and able to meet operational deadlines
- Capable of working independently and collaboratively
