Geological Technician - Greenstone Gold Mines - DIDO

Greenstone Gold Mines LP, a subsidiary of Equinox Gold Corp, operates the Greenstone Mine located in Geraldton, Ontario. This major open-pit gold mining project began production in May 2024 and is expected to produce nearly 400,000 ounces of gold annually over an initial 14-year mine life. The Geology Technician II position plays a vital role supporting RC drilling programs, grade control, and production activities, working on a 14 on/14 off rotation at the Geraldton site. Company transportation is provided from multiple pickup points.

Responsibilities

The Geology Technician II supports exploration and production by assisting with drilling programs, grade control, and monitoring material movement, while ensuring safe practices. Key responsibilities include:

  • Practicing safe behaviors and reporting hazards and incidents
  • Collecting and submitting RC drilling and blast hole samples accurately and timely
  • Liaising with the assay laboratory
  • Assisting with installation and pickup of blast movement monitors
  • Assisting in delineation of ore/waste boundaries in the field
  • Monitoring material movement to the process plant and stockpile pad

Requirements

The ideal candidate possesses technical knowledge, field experience, and strong organizational skills. Requirements include:

  • Understanding of sampling procedures and QA/QC is an asset
  • Ability to safely operate a �-ton pickup truck
  • Ability to safely lift rock samples and shovel gravel
  • Prior industrial experience is an asset
  • Experience working safely around heavy equipment is an asset
  • Strong organizational and Microsoft Office skills
  • Self-motivated with independent work success
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Full English proficiency
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Willingness to perform repetitive tasks and adapt inclusively
  • Valid driver's license
