The General Labourer supports yard operations and manual labour tasks ensuring safety and operational efficiency.
- Assist with yard cleanup and maintenance.
- Perform manual labour and operational support tasks.
- Perform railcar cabling (center beams of lumber) pending Fall Protection certification.
- Support rigging, shunting trailers, forklift operation, and pneumatic loading pending certification/training.
- Follow all safe work practices, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Suggest improvements to work conditions and equipment use.
- Other duties as assigned by manager.
Requirements
Candidates should have the following attributes and experience:
- Previous general labourer or forklift experience is an asset but not required.
- Familiarity with power tools is an asset.
- Good hand-eye coordination.
- Ability to meet physical demands including standing, climbing ladders, and lifting 10-20 lbs.
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Strong interpersonal skills for diverse work environments.
