Newmont is hiring a General Helper for its Brucejack Gold Mine in northern British Columbia, approximately 65 kilometers north of Stewart. This fly-in/fly-out role follows a rotational schedule of 13 days on and 13 days off, with private accommodations, meals, and access to fitness and recreational facilities. The General Helper is responsible for maintaining cleanliness, stocking food supplies, ensuring food safety compliance, and assisting with food preparation. The General Helper ensures a clean, stocked, and welcoming dining environment while supporting kitchen operations.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in dining and lunchroom areas.
- Stock food, beverages, and supplies throughout shifts.
- Ensure compliance with FoodSafe and WHMIS guidelines.
- Provide excellent guest service, assisting with questions or requests.
- Monitor and log cooler temperatures, reporting issues immediately.
- Assist with food prep, dishwashing, and general cleaning as needed.
- Safely handle and dispose of garbage and recycling.
- Report equipment damage or supply shortages to a supervisor.
Requirements
Applicants must meet the following qualifications to succeed in this role:
- Grade 12 diploma or GED.
- WHMIS and FoodSafe Level 1 certification.
- Previous kitchen experience preferred.
- Ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs throughout a shift.
- Strong teamwork, communication, and attention to detail.
