Fuel And Lube Technician - Kearl Oil Sands - Fly In/Out - Two Week Rotations
ML Northern is hiring Fuel & Lube Technicians for work at Kearl in Fort McMurray, AB. This position follows a 14-day on, 14-day off schedule with 12-hour shifts. Camp accommodations are provided, and flights may be available for select sites from Edmonton or Calgary. Bus transportation is provided from Fort McMurray to the job site. Responsibilities include fueling and greasing mining equipment, assisting maintenance teams, and ensuring compliance with safety protocols. This is a unionized position under IUOE Local 955.

Responsibilities
The Fuel & Lube Technician will be responsible for servicing and maintaining mining equipment.
- Fuel and grease mining and support equipment
- Perform general labor tasks, including yard cleanup
- Assist mechanics and service technicians
- Work in physically demanding and adverse conditions
- Ensure compliance with safety policies and procedures
- Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required
- Conduct equipment walk-arounds, safety checks, and risk assessments
- Report necessary repairs to supervisors and maintenance teams
- Report incidents, near misses, or equipment damage immediately
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have mechanical knowledge and a strong safety focus.
- Valid Class 3 Driver's License with Air Brake Endorsement
- Experience operating a standard vehicle
- Related experience preferred
- Forklift, bobcat, and loader experience is an asset
- Aerial Work Platform (AWP) and Fall Arrest Certification are assets
- Access to Suncor, Syncrude, Syncrude Aurora, and Kearl
- Proficiency in English (verbal and written)
- Valid CSO Certification
- Silica Awareness Certification
- Wood Buffalo Wildlife Awareness Certification
- OHS Alberta Legislation Certification
