Newmont is hiring a Surface Fuel Attendant for its Brucejack Mine in northern British Columbia. This fly-in/fly-out position ensures the safe and efficient operation of fuel management systems at the mine site. The role involves maintaining fuel storage, refueling equipment, and conducting safety inspections. Responsibilities

The Surface Fuel Attendant is responsible for maintaining fuel management systems, ensuring safety compliance, and supporting site operations.

  • Offload ISO containers and totes into the fuel management system.
  • Use fuel data systems and maintain fuel transfer records.
  • Refuel site equipment, including heavy machinery.
  • Maintain diesel tank farm, ensuring cleanliness and spill prevention.
  • Assist with propane systems, including data logging and tank movement.
  • Perform snow removal around fuel storage areas.
  • Conduct safety inspections at the tank farm.
  • Assist with site clean-up and other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Candidates should have prior experience in fuel management or site operations and meet the following qualifications:

  • Grade 12 diploma or GED.
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license.
  • Physically fit; able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work 12-hour day and night shifts.
  • Certification in Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS).
  • TDG (Transportation of Dangerous Goods) certification.
  • Emergency Spill Response training.
  • Strong communication and ability to follow safety procedures.
