FLINT is hiring experienced Excavator Operators for a permanent dewatering project located in Fort McMurray, Alberta, beginning August 14, 2025. This role operates on a 7/7 night shift schedule and is open to both fly-in/fly-out and local candidates. Flights are provided from Calgary or Edmonton, along with full camp accommodations. Successful applicants will join a skilled team tasked with critical excavator operations in support of mine dewatering efforts. Responsibilities
As an Excavator Operator in Dewatering, you will support ongoing mining operations by operating excavators to manage water control tasks across site infrastructure.
- Operate excavators efficiently and safely on dewatering projects
- Assist in maintaining proper drainage and excavation around pumping and piping systems
- Support nighttime operations across rotating 7/7 shifts
- Inspect equipment and complete pre/post-operational checks
- Work closely with site supervisors and dewatering team to execute tasks
- Train on new equipment when required
Requirements
Qualified candidates will bring prior excavator experience and meet all site-specific safety and licensing standards.
- Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience operating excavators
- Valid CSO (Common Safety Orientation)
- Physically capable of working in demanding environments and night shifts
- Clean 5-year driver's abstract with fewer than 6 demerits
- Proficiency in English for verbal and written communication
- Willingness to train on new equipment as needed
