Morgan Construction and Environmental Ltd. is hiring experienced Excavator Operators to support its heavy civil construction projects across Alberta. As a full-time position based in remote worksites, operators will perform key duties like earthmoving, pad and lease building, and reclamation. Applicants must have experience with 65-ton and larger excavators, and be prepared to work on a rotational schedule with camp accommodations provided. Responsibilities
As an Excavator Operator, you will support Morgan's heavy civil operations through safe, efficient earthmoving and site prep tasks.
- Operate 65-ton and larger excavators for earthworks and site grading.
- Strip overburden, stack, stockpile, and place topsoil as needed.
- Assist in road, lease, pad, and culvert construction and reclamation.
- Conduct equipment inspections (fluids, tires, brakes, etc.).
- Ensure all work meets quality specifications and site requirements.
- Adhere to PPE policies and promote a strong safety culture.
- Collaborate with crews and provide support to ground personnel.
Requirements
Applicants must meet the following qualifications to be considered:
- Minimum 3 years of experience operating 65-ton+ excavators.
- Background in civil earthworks, mining, or oilfield services.
- Experience with technical grade plans and soft ground work.
- Ability to finish/trim and work on ice roads is a strong asset.
- Able to shovel out equipment tracks when needed.
- Certifications: CSTS-09, BSO/CSO, H2S Alive, Bear Awareness, First Aid.
- Must pass pre-employment drug, alcohol, and fit-to-work testing.
- Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs safely.
- CSA-approved steel-toe 6" lace-up boots required.
