Equipment Operator - Rainy River Mine - 7x7 Rotation Day and Night Shifts

New Gold is seeking Temporary Equipment Operators for its seasonal Construction team at Rainy River Mine, Emo, Ontario, running April to October 2025. This residential gold and silver mine site operates a 7/7 rotation alternating day and night 12-hour shifts. The operator will support TMA operations by safely operating heavy equipment including articulating and 100T haul trucks, performing equipment inspections, maintenance, and cleaning. No camp or travel accommodations are provided. Preference is given to local residents. Training opportunities and competitive pay are offered.

Responsibilities

The Temporary Equipment Operator safely operates heavy construction equipment to support production activities.

  • Work 7/7 rotation with alternating day and night 12-hour shifts.
  • Operate articulating haul trucks and 100T haul trucks safely and efficiently.
  • Perform circle checks on equipment before operation.
  • Clean, maintain, and secure equipment according to legislation, policies, and procedures.

Requirements

Candidates should hold a valid driver's license with mechanical aptitude and safety awareness. Heavy equipment operation experience is an asset but not mandatory.

  • Valid driver's license, minimum class G2.
  • 1 year machinery operation experience is an asset but not required.
  • Heavy Equipment Operator Training is desirable.
  • Ontario Common Core Training is an asset.
  • Ability to understand and follow safety operating practices.
  • Strong verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to comprehend instructions and signage.
  • Ability to sit long periods and work at heights.
  • Physically fit to perform labor-intensive work.
