Equipment Operator - Rainy River Mine - 7x7 Day Night Rotation
New Gold is seeking an experienced Equipment Operator for its Construction team at Rainy River Mine, Emo, Ontario. This residential gold and silver mining site offers a 7/7 rotation alternating between day and night 12-hour shifts. The operator will primarily work as an excavator operator with 2-4 years' experience, supporting TMA operations by safely operating heavy equipment including excavators, haul trucks, loaders, and dozers to meet production goals. The role requires strong safety adherence, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

The Equipment Operator safely operates heavy construction equipment to support production activities and meet operational objectives.
- Work 7/7 rotation with alternating day and night 12-hour shifts.
- Operate excavators, haul trucks (articulating and 100T), front-end loaders, dozers, and other heavy equipment.
- Load haul trucks consistently with materials like clay, rock, and overburden.
- Perform circle checks, clean, maintain, and secure equipment as per policies and regulations.
- Hold grade consistently and work independently following plans.
Requirements
Applicants must hold a valid driver's license and have 2-4 years of excavator operating experience with mechanical aptitude and safety awareness.
- Valid driver's license, minimum class G2.
- 2-4 years experience operating excavators.
- Experience operating various heavy machinery is an asset.
- Heavy Equipment Operator Training is desirable.
- Ontario Common Core Training is an asset.
- Ability to understand and follow safety procedures.
- Strong verbal communication skills.
- Ability to read instructions and signage.
- Physically fit and able to work at heights and sit for long periods.
