Equipment Operator - Rainy River Mine - 7/7 12 Hour Days And Nights

New Gold Inc. is seeking Temporary Equipment Operators for a seasonal position running from April to October 2025 at the Rainy River Mine near Emo, Ontario. This role supports TMA operations with safe and efficient operation of heavy equipment, including articulating and 100T haul trucks. The position follows a 7/7 rotation of 12-hour shifts, alternating between days and nights. Local candidates are preferred, and camp accommodations are not provided.

Responsibilities

The Equipment Operator supports TMA operations through safe and skilled equipment use. Responsibilities include:

  • Operate haul trucks and heavy equipment safely and appropriately
  • Work a 7/7 rotating day/night shift schedule
  • Perform daily equipment circle checks and cleaning
  • Maintain, secure, and operate articulating and 100T haul trucks
  • Follow all site safety practices and procedures

Requirements

Minimum qualifications and preferred credentials include:

  • Valid driver's license (minimum G2)
  • 1 year of machinery operation experience (asset)
  • Heavy Equipment Operator training (desirable)
  • Ontario Common Core training (asset)

  • Strong focus on safety and communication
  • Ability to follow safety operating practices
  • Physically fit and capable of working at heights
  • Ability to read and understand signage and instructions
  • Quick decision-making and long-duration equipment operation
