FLINT is hiring an experienced Environmental Technical Professional to support environmental consulting services in Calgary, Alberta, or remotely from anywhere in Western Canada. This permanent full-time role requires a minimum of 8 years' experience in upstream, midstream, or downstream oil and gas projects. The successful candidate will provide advanced technical support on environmental site assessments, risk management, SST, and compliance reporting. Responsibilities
As an Environmental Technical Professional, you'll play a key role in technical leadership and project delivery across environmental programs.
- Compile and review drill plans, risk maps, and perform environmental assessments including Tier 1 & 2, SST, and Site-Specific Risk Assessments
- Write, review, and manage reports including Phase 1 & 2 ESAs, supplemental assessments, and gap analyses
- Collaborate with internal teams and clients to scope and manage environmental projects
- Provide direction to technical teams including report writers and field staff
- Support and oversee remedial technology implementation
- Ensure accurate and timely submission of claims, invoices, and compliance documentation
Requirements
Candidates must meet technical, regulatory, and leadership qualifications to thrive in this senior-level role.
- University degree in environmental science, engineering, or related field
- Professional designation (P.Ag., P.Biol., P.Eng., P.Geo., or equivalent)
- Minimum 8 years of environmental consulting experience
- Certification and experience with Subsoil Salinity Tool (SST)
- Knowledge of Alberta Tier 1/2, CCME, PNG045, Saskatchewan EQG
- Experience conducting Tier 2 and Site-Specific Risk Assessments
- Strong project management and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal collaboration abilities
