Electrician - Remote Camps Nunavut - FIFO - 3 Week Rotations
MATRIX is hiring a Red Seal Journeyperson Electrician for a remote fly-in/fly-out camp near Bathurst Inlet, Nunavut. This full-time camp role operates on a 3 week on / 3 week off rotation and includes travel allowance to the Edmonton charter hub. With a daily rate between $500 and $550 depending on experience and certifications, the Electrician will handle inspections, maintenance, electrical controls, and safety compliance across the camp. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of construction or camp-based electrical experience and must be comfortable working independently on 12-hour shifts in remote conditions.

The Electrician will perform inspections, repairs, and installations across a remote camp operation while ensuring safety and code compliance.
- Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair electrical components and systems
- Use testing equipment to verify circuits and connections
- Order and manage electrical parts inventory
- Maintain documentation and ensure timely, budget-conscious repairs
- Follow building code regulations for camp installations and repairs
- Participate in toolbox talks and safety inspections
- Report unsafe conditions and incidents immediately
- Keep work areas clean and safe
- Read and interpret electrical blueprints
- Maintain high performance over 12-hour shifts
Requirements
Candidates must be Red Seal certified with hands-on experience in camp or construction electrical systems, able to work independently in remote environments.
- Certified Journeyperson Electrician (Red Seal)
- Minimum 3 years of experience in construction or camp environments
- Experience with live transfer electrical service and controls
- Ability to work 3/3 rotation and 12-hour shifts
- Excellent verbal and written English skills
- Physically fit for prolonged walking, standing, and lifting
- Self-motivated and capable of working with minimal supervision
- Valid Driver's License preferred (Class 1/heavy haul an asset)
- Standard First Aid and WHMIS certifications
- Experience in remote camps required
