Newmont is seeking an experienced Driller to join their Red Chris Mine Operations team located near Dease Lake, British Columbia on the traditional territory of the Tahltan Nation. This open-pit copper and gold mine currently operates with plans to transition to a high-value underground block cave operation. Responsibilities
As a Driller at Red Chris Mine, you will safely and productively operate drilling equipment within an open-pit mining environment.
- Promote and maintain a culture of safe production and compliance with safety systems.
- Operate Sandvik 412, Sandvik Leopard 650, and Pit Viper 451 drills safely.
- Complete FLHAs regularly and maintain detailed daily logbooks.
- Perform equipment inspections before and after shifts.
- Report unsafe conditions and maintain clean work areas.
- Work with digital fleet management systems.
Requirements
Ideal candidates for this Driller position will meet the following qualifications and experience requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in an open-pit drilling program.
- At least 1 year of experience operating at least two of: Sandvik 412, Pit Viper 451, Leopard 650.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Commitment to safety and compliance with Newmont’s Code of Conduct.
