Drill And Blast Technician - Greenstone Gold Mines - 14/14 Rotations
Greenstone Gold Mines LP, owned by Equinox Gold Corp, is hiring a Drill and Blast Technician for the Greenstone Mine in Geraldton, Ontario. This open-pit gold mine, operational since May 2024, is projected to produce nearly 400,000 ounces of gold annually for an initial 14-year mine life. The Drill and Blast Technician will support mine planning, drill & blast engineering, and pit surveying. This position operates on a rotational schedule of 14 days on, 14 days off, with full reimbursement for fly-in/fly-out travel, company-provided accommodation, and meals.

Responsibilities
The Drill and Blast Technician is responsible for supporting mine planning, drill and blast engineering, and surveying at Greenstone Mine. Responsibilities include:
- Following health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Planning and designing drill & blast patterns in Deswik.IS OPDB and ViewShot3D.
- Monitoring drilling, blasting, overburden stripping, excavation, and field work.
- Performing field inspections, blast access control, and drone-based blast filming.
- Documenting and evaluating blast results.
- Assisting short-range planning engineers in daily planning meetings.
- Supporting survey group with data collection, processing, and presentation.
- Designing mine structures such as haul roads, pits, and stockpiles.
- Coordinating information flow between engineering and operations teams.
- Assisting the drill and blast crew with drill hole design and drill pattern preparation.
- Ensuring execution of mine plans to meet operational needs.
- Performing other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
Candidates should meet the following qualifications and skills:
- Two-to-three-year post-secondary education in Mine Engineering (required).
- Experience in drill & blast design (required).
- Previous mine site work experience preferred; open-pit or gold mining experience is an asset.
- Experience in short-range mine planning is an asset.
- Proficiency in mining CAD software (required); Deswik preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and SharePoint.
- Experience with Access or other database software is an asset.
- Valid driver's license (required).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced team environment.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
