The Control Room Operator oversees mill operations using computer systems and ensures safe, efficient performance. Key duties include:
- Operate and monitor mill via computer-based control systems (DeltaV)
- Coordinate operations with maintenance, mining, and services
- Mentor fellow operators and support safety culture
- Respond to alarms and troubleshoot mill issues
- Report unsafe conditions and process problems promptly
- Train and support relief control room operators
- Conduct regular circuit inspections and report issues
- Maintain clean and safe working environment
Requirements
Candidates must meet the following qualifications:
- Grade 12 diploma or GED
- Valid Driver's License or in progress
- At least 5 years of mill operation experience
- Minimum 2 years of control room operator experience
- Knowledge of gold milling processes and DeltaV system (asset)
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work under pressure and handle plant operations
- Organizational, analytical, and time management skills
- Physically fit and capable of shift work
