Drivers operate B train trailers hauling wood fibre products such as wood chips, sawdust, and hog fuel locally within the Interior of BC, covering major highways including Hwy 1 (Coquihalla), Hwy 5, and Hwy 97. Responsibilities

The Class 1 Truck Driver is responsible for safe and compliant local hauling of wood fibre products while maintaining professional standards and regulatory compliance.

  • Secure cargo loads and prepare equipment with safe handling practices.
  • Conduct pre-trip, post-trip, and en route inspections ensuring safety and roadworthiness.
  • Comply with applicable legislation including hours of service, load securement, occupational health and safety, and transportation regulations.
  • Maintain accurate documentation including bills of lading and electronic logs of working hours and vehicle status.
  • Operate truck cab computers, CB radios, and telephones to communicate with supervisors and base.
  • Ensure professional conduct with customers, co-workers, and the public.

Requirements

Candidates must meet the following to operate safely and effectively:

  • Valid Class 1 truck driver's license.
  • Driver's abstract with no suspensions.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening.
  • Minimum two job references.
  • B train experience is an asset.
  • Previous winter and mountain driving experience required.
  • Positive attitude and professionalism.
