Responsibilities
The Class 1 Truck Driver for Arrow's Quesnel Fibre Division is responsible for safe, compliant hauling of wood fibre products locally while maintaining professional standards.
- Secure and oversee cargo handling with proper equipment preparation and safe load securement.
- Perform pre-trip, post-trip, and en route equipment inspections ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.
- Adhere to legislation governing safe operation, load securement, hours of service, transportation of dangerous goods, and occupational health and safety.
- Maintain and verify all required paperwork, including bills of lading and electronic logs of working hours and vehicle status.
- Operate truck cab computers, two-way radios, and telephones for communication.
- Maintain professional conduct with customers, co-workers, and the public.
Requirements
Candidates must meet the following qualifications to ensure safe and effective operation within the fibre haul division:
- Valid Class 1 truck driver's license.
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening.
- Minimum two job references.
- Driver's abstract with no suspensions.
- B train experience is an asset.
- Previous winter and mountain driving experience required.
- Positive attitude and professionalism.
