Responsibilities

The Class 1 Flat Deck Truck Driver is responsible for the safe transport and securement of loads across Western Canada highways while complying with regulations and company policies.

  • Handle cargo loading and secure loads with safe practices and regulatory compliance.
  • Perform pre-trip, post-trip, and en route inspections of equipment to ensure safety and roadworthiness.
  • Adhere to legislation including driver's hours of service, load securement, transportation of dangerous goods, and occupational health and safety.
  • Maintain accurate documentation including bills of lading and electronic logs of hours and vehicle status.
  • Operate truck cab computers, CB radios, and telephones to communicate with supervisors and other drivers.
  • Maintain professional conduct with customers, co-workers, and the public.

Requirements

Candidates must meet the following qualifications and experience to ensure safe and reliable operation:

  • Valid Class 1 truck driver's license.
  • Driver's abstract with no suspensions.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening.
  • Minimum two job references.
  • Preference given to drivers with B train experience.
  • Previous winter and mountain driving experience required.
  • Positive attitude and professionalism.
