Responsibilities

The Class 1 Truck Driver is responsible for the safe and compliant hauling of wood fibre products locally while maintaining professional conduct and regulatory compliance.

  • Handle cargo loading and secure loads with proper equipment preparation and safe practices.
  • Perform pre-trip, post-trip, and en route inspections to ensure safety and roadworthiness.
  • Comply with legislation including driver hours of service, load securement, occupational health and safety, transportation of dangerous goods, and weight/dimension regulations.
  • Maintain and verify paperwork such as bills of lading and electronic logs.
  • Use truck cab computers, CB radios, and telephones to communicate with bases and supervisors.
  • Ensure professional conduct with customers, co-workers, and the public.

Requirements

Candidates must meet the following to ensure safe and reliable operations:

  • Valid Class 1 truck driver's license.
  • Positive attitude and professionalism.
  • Preference given to candidates with Super B experience.
  • Preference for previous mountain driving experience.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening.
  • Driver's abstract with no suspensions.
