Mine Security Guard - Remote Mining Camps British Columbia - FIFO

Scarlet Security & Risk Group (SSRG) is hiring full-time Security Guards for a remote fly-in/fly-out mining operation in Northern British Columbia. This position includes camp accommodations and meals at no cost, along with provided travel from major marshalling points across BC. The role pays $22/hour plus overtime and follows a 2-week on, 2-week off rotation. Responsibilities include site access control, patrols, lodge security, emergency response, and surveillance monitoring. A BC Security License, Class 5 driver's license, and the ability to pass a drug test are required.

Responsibilities

Security Guards will provide comprehensive protection and patrol services at a remote mine site in Northern BC. Key duties include:

  • Ensuring high customer service standards with guests, staff, and workers
  • Controlling access and intrusion detection throughout the site
  • Conducting foot and mobile patrols across various zones
  • Monitoring surveillance systems and security alarms
  • Creating detailed reports on site activities and incidents
  • Dispatching emergency responses and maintaining radio communications
  • Managing security badge issuance and access logging

Requirements

Candidates must meet the following qualifications to be eligible:

  • Valid BC Security License
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License and clean abstract
  • CPR & AED certification preferred
  • 1 year experience in mining or oil & gas preferred
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods
  • Comfort working indoors/outdoors in varying weather
  • Strong English communication skills - written and verbal
  • Pass drug/alcohol screening and criminal record check
