The Breakfast Cook is responsible for preparing and serving breakfast items to lodge guests, ensuring high standards of quality, safety, and service. Key duties include:
- Prepare and cook breakfast menu items including bacon, sausage, eggs, pancakes, waffles, and baked goods.
- Maintain proper inventory levels using the first-in-first-out method.
- Follow set menus ensuring quality and variety in meals.
- Comply with all food hygiene and safety regulations per the Food Safety Act.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and maintain sanitation standards.
- Support night shift staff with training, mentorship, and prep work.
- Assist in all kitchen roles as required, including dishwashing and meal execution.
- Deliver excellent customer service to lodge clientele.
Requirements
Applicants should bring proven culinary skills and a commitment to food safety and quality. Requirements include:
- Interprovincial Red Seal Certification or Culinary Arts Graduate Certification preferred.
- FoodSafe Level I required; SafeCheck or HACCP certification considered an asset.
- Minimum 5 years' experience cooking in camp, hotel, or institutional settings.
- Demonstrated ability to prepare breakfast items for large groups.
- Must pass mandatory WHMIS test with a score of 100%.
- Ability to work safely in a fast-paced camp kitchen environment.
