Baker - Back River Gold District - Fly In/Out - 4/2 Week Rotations
Kitikmeot Camp Solutions is hiring a Baker for a remote Horizon North camp facility in Nunavut. This role involves preparing and baking goods to the highest standards while ensuring compliance with food safety regulations. The Baker is responsible for maintaining fresh stock, supervising night shift employees, and delivering high-quality baked goods for camp guests. The position operates on a 4 weeks on / 2 weeks off rotation, with paid travel time and full camp accommodations, including meals, private rooms, and amenities.

The Baker is responsible for preparing and baking high-quality goods while maintaining food safety standards in a remote camp setting.
- Prepare and bake goods from scratch to meet high-quality standards.
- Supervise night shift employees, providing mentorship and training.
- Ensure pastry shelves are stocked with fresh supplies.
- Follow menus to maintain consistency in baked goods and desserts.
- Comply with food hygiene regulations and food safety standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitization of workstations and equipment.
- Identify areas for improvement in overall bakery operations.
Requirements
The ideal candidate should have baking experience in a high-volume setting and the ability to work independently in a remote environment.
- FoodSafe Level I certification (required).
- SafeCheck Advanced Food Safety or HACCP certification (preferred).
- Minimum 3 years of baking experience in a camp, hotel, or institutional setting.
- Proven ability to prepare baked goods for a large number of guests.
- Prior supervisory experience.
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 35 lbs.
- Successful completion of WHMIS training with an 80% or higher score.
