Responsibilities
The Apprentice Mechanic performs mechanical repair and maintenance on tractors, trailers, and mobile equipment, gaining hands-on experience and skills development.
- Provide routine maintenance on tractors, trailers, forklifts, and loaders.
- Inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions.
- Maintain safe working conditions and follow Occupational Health and Safety regulations.
- Perform mechanical repairs in shop and on road calls as required.
- Diagnose faults using computerized and other testing equipment.
- Perform incidental welding repairs.
- Operate automotive servicing equipment, such as A/C recyclers.
- Keep current with technology and repair techniques.
Requirements
Applicants must meet the following to succeed as an Apprentice Mechanic:
- Registered apprentice in a certified mechanic program.
- Mechanical abilities in hydraulics and electrical systems, including schematics and diagnostics.
- Experience with routine maintenance operations.
- Positive attitude and strong safety mindset.
- Solid interpersonal skills to work effectively in a diverse environment.
- Ability to work professionally under pressure.
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening.
- At least two job references.
