2nd Cook - Remote Oilfield Camps - 20 Days On / 10 Days Off - Camp

Dexterra Group is seeking a Second Cook for its Horizon North camp operations. This role is based out of Edmonton and follows a 20/10 work rotation with 10 to 12-hour days. Transportation is provided from Edmonton to site. Responsibilities include food preparation, salad bar setup, sandwich station management, and kitchen sanitation. Camp accommodations, meals, travel time, and benefits are included.

Responsibilities

The Second Cook supports meal prep, salad bar service, and cold food stations in a high-volume remote kitchen.

  • Maintain food quality and kitchen sanitation
  • Prepare meats, cheese, sandwiches, and wraps
  • Inspect cold food for visual quality
  • Stock and organize food storage properly
  • Set up and manage salad bar for lunch and supper
  • Optimize ingredient use and minimize waste

Requirements

Ideal candidates have remote or institutional kitchen experience, food safety training, and a commitment to cleanliness and quality.

  • 5+ years of cooking experience preferred
  • FoodSafe Level I required; HACCP or SafeCheck preferred
  • Must score 80%+ on WHMIS test
  • Experience in hotel, camp, or institutional food service is an asset
