The 2nd Cook supports daily kitchen operations, ensuring timely preparation and high-quality food service in a remote camp environment.
- Collaborate daily with the First Cook on menu preparation and production planning.
- Prepare starches, vegetables, and other meal components according to recipes and standards.
- Assist in preparing and serving hot breakfasts as required.
- Replenish dessert and condiment stations throughout service periods.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in kitchen and serving areas.
- Assist with baking duties and food presentation when needed.
- Follow proper food handling, safety, and storage procedures.
- Ensure portion control, quality consistency, and adherence to company standards.
Requirements
Qualified candidates should have prior experience in large-scale food production and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced camp kitchen environment.
- Experience in camp kitchens, hotels, or banquet facilities is a strong asset.
- Current Food Safe certification preferred.
- Ability to commit to a 2-week on/2-week off rotation.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Valid government-issued photo ID required for travel to site.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb stairs, and perform repetitive kitchen tasks.
- Ability to work extended shifts, including weekends and holidays, as required.
