The 2nd Cook supports ATCO Frontec camp food service operations at the Artemis Blackwater Mine by preparing meals, maintaining food quality and safety standards, inspecting kitchen equipment, and keeping the workplace clean and organized.

• Prepare and serve meals to the highest food quality and presentation standards.
• Prepare a wide variety of foods and meals for remote camp residents and site personnel.
• Support day-to-day kitchen and camp food service operations in a professional manner.
• Follow established food safety, sanitation, and kitchen operating procedures.
• Operate required kitchen equipment safely and according to established safety practices.
• Inspect food products and kitchen equipment on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
• Identify food quality, storage, equipment, or sanitation concerns and address or report issues as required.
• Maintain a clean, tidy, and sanitary workstation throughout each shift.
• Assist with maintaining overall kitchen cleanliness and organization.
• Work effectively in a fast-paced remote camp kitchen environment.
• Coordinate with other kitchen and Camp Services team members to support efficient meal preparation and service.
• Perform additional food service and kitchen duties as assigned by management.

Candidates for the ATCO Frontec 2nd Cook position should have formal culinary training, previous commercial cooking experience, and a valid food safety certificate. The role also requires strong organization, communication, multitasking, and the ability to perform effectively under pressure in a remote camp kitchen environment.

• Completion of a college or other post-secondary cooking or culinary program.

• 2 to 3 years of experience working as a 2nd Cook in the hotel or restaurant industry.
