Newmont is hiring a First Cook for its Brucejack Gold Mine in northern British Columbia, approximately 65 kilometers north of Stewart. The First Cook ensures food quality and safety while supervising kitchen operations at Brucejack Mine.
- Follow all food safety policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Assist the Chef in planning and executing daily and weekly menus.
- Supervise, delegate, and coach kitchen staff to maintain high-quality food standards.
- Oversee inventory management, including forecasting, ordering, receiving, and storage.
- Conduct daily safety meetings and ensure compliance with WHMIS and PPE guidelines.
- Monitor and maintain kitchen equipment, reporting functionality issues.
- Verify completion of logs, checklists, and reports related to food safety and sanitation.
Requirements

- Strong leadership and supervisory skills in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Comprehensive knowledge of food safety and sanitation best practices.
- Experience in menu planning, inventory management, and ordering procedures.
