ATCO Frontec is seeking a 1st Cook to join its Camp Services team at Artemis Blackwater Mine in central British Columbia, approximately 160 km southwest of Prince George. This camp-based role supports food service operations, ensuring meals are prepared to high standards and may act as the Chef during their absence. The position includes free accommodations, meals, and amenities, and operates on a rotational schedule yet to be finalized.

The 1st Cook assists in managing kitchen operations and food preparation. Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting the Chef with food services per ATCO Frontec guidelines
- Preparing meals and maintaining high presentation standards
- Managing inventory and ordering supplies as needed
- Overseeing food serving areas with attention to quality and waste control
- Training and supervising kitchen staff
- Maintaining sanitary and safety standards in food areas
- Conducting safety toolbox meetings
- Assigning tasks to ensure efficient kitchen operations
- Inspecting facilities and equipment for compliance
- Cleaning kitchen, utensils, and equipment
- Fulfilling other duties as assigned
Requirements
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Red Seal Certification
- 3-4 years' experience as a 1st Cook in hotel or restaurant industry
- Advanced Food Safe Certificate
- Valid CSTS and First Aid certifications
- Professional oral and written communication skills
- Ability to supervise kitchen staff
- Strong organizational and leadership abilities
- Capable of multitasking and problem-solving under pressure
