Hemlo Mining Corporation

Hemlo Mining Corporation (HMC) is a Vancouver-based gold producer that owns and operates the Hemlo mine in northwestern Ontario, trading on the TSX Venture Exchange under the symbol HMMC. The company was formed when Carcetti Capital Corp. acquired the mine from Barrick Mining Corporation and renamed itself Hemlo Mining Corp., in a deal worth up to $1.09 billion backed by Wheaton Precious Metals and Orion Mine Finance. Hemlo is the company's sole operating asset, and its leadership team carries a deep history with the property, including Robert Quartermain, who played a role in the original discovery of Hemlo while at Teck Resources and later led SSR Mining and founded Pretium Resources. Since taking ownership, HMC has launched a large-scale drilling and exploration program aimed at extending the mine's life and testing new gold targets along the Hemlo greenstone belt.
