Baffinland Iron Mines Corporation is a Canadian mining company operating the Mary River Mine on Baffin Island in Nunavut. The mine is renowned for producing the highest grade of direct shipping iron ore globally. Baffinland is jointly owned by The Energy and Minerals Group and ArcelorMittal. In October 2023, the company received approval to increase its ore shipping capacity to six million tonnes per year until December 31, 2024, following recommendations from the Nunavut Impact Review Board.
