The Rainy River Gold Mine, located approximately 65 kilometers northwest of Fort Frances in Ontario, is a key operation within New Gold's portfolio. With both open-pit and underground mining operations, this site plays a significant role in Ontario's mining industry. The mine's life has been extended to 2031, with ongoing projects in underground development, including the Intrepid and main zones.
Haulage Miners
Haulage Miners are responsible for operating mining equipment in a safe and efficient manner, ensuring that all production activities are conducted effectively. This includes performing pre-operational checks and regularly cleaning, lubricating, and refilling equipment to maintain its functionality. They operate haul trucks to transport overburden, waste, and ore from the mine, and provide general labour support for surface mining operations. Additionally, they participate in various activities that contribute to the safety and productivity of the mining operations.
No prior experience is required for this role, as on-the-job training will be provided. However, having one year of experience operating machinery is considered an asset, though not mandatory. Heavy Equipment Operator Training is desirable, and Ontario Common Core Training is also an asset.
Mill Maintenance Electricians
Electricians at the Rainy River Gold Mine are tasked with installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and equipment within the mill at the mine. They ensure that all electrical work is conducted in compliance with safety regulations and standards. This role also involves performing troubleshooting and preventive maintenance on electrical systems to prevent any disruptions in milling operations.
