As a Pipeline Labourer, you will support pipeline maintenance operations with tasks such as hand digging hotlines, removing existing pipeline coatings, operating sandblasting units, site setup, setting up hoarding/fencing, and using hand tools and small machines.
Additional duties include loading and unloading construction materials and equipment, acting as a spotter for trucks and heavy equipment, providing general cleanup, and ensuring work is completed within deadlines.
General Work Conditions:
- Project-based in various locations across Alberta, meeting in Spruce Grove, AB
- Travel often to support maintenance activities in various locations across Alberta with overnight stays required
- Modified work schedule - 9 days on/5 days off
- Work will be primarily outdoors in various weather conditions
Essential Responsibilities:
- Perform tasks on the labour crew to support pipeline maintenance operations
- Load and unload construction materials and equipment
- Act as a spotter for trucks and heavy equipment
- Provide general cleanup and maintenance of the work area
- Ensure work is completed within deadlines
- Be flexible with duties to support project requirements
Qualifications:
- 1-2 years of labour experience (ideally within pipeline maintenance scope)
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Demonstrated ability to work under minimal supervision
- Successful completion of pre-access drug and alcohol testing
- Valid class 5 driver's license with a clean driver's abstract
- Willingness to obtain TDG, Defensive Driving, First Aid Level C, and WHMIS certifications
