Sodexo Canada is hiring for multiple camp jobs at LNG Canada's Cedar Valley Lodge in Kitimat, BC. The lodge, which accommodates up to 4,500 workers, offers fly-in, fly-out opportunities for a variety of skilled roles, including Bakers, Plumbers, Technicians, and Gasfitters. Cedar Valley Lodge, located in Kitimat, BC, is a state-of-the-art camp facility designed to house 4,500 workers for the LNG Canada project. The lodge provides a range of amenities to ensure a comfortable living environment, including modern accommodations, recreational facilities, and high-quality dining services.
Plumbers, Gasfitters, and Technicians
These professionals serve as Maintenance Mechanic Plumbers responsible for inspecting, installing, repairing, and replacing pipes, fittings, and plumbing fixtures to maintain the heating, water, gas, and drainage systems.
Their duties include cutting, bending, threading, and fitting pipes with adjoining pipe assemblies, caulking leaks, and opening clogged drains. They work on kitchen equipment and install various plumbing fixtures such as sinks, showers, toilets, and water heaters.
To qualify, candidates should have a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience, and possess 5 to 10 years or more of related experience. A valid driver's license and an Interprovincial Journeyman Red-Seal certification in two or more trades, such as Plumber or Gasfitter, are required.
Bakers
Under the general supervision of the Chef, Bakers are responsible for preparing and cooking foodstuffs in quantities according to the menu and the number of persons to be served. They create a variety of baked goods from scratch, including breads, rolls, muffins, biscuits, pies, cakes, cookies, pastries, and other desserts.
Bakers are also responsible for checking production levels and maintaining accurate records to plan production requirements effectively. They oversee the preparation of all desserts for food operations, banquets, specialty orders, and to-go orders.
Applicants must have a Certificate of Baking Qualification from a recognized institution and a minimum of three years of experience in a high-volume environment, such as a construction camp or institutional setting (serving approximately 1,000-5,000 persons). A combination of education, training, and experience equivalent to Journeyman status is preferred, along with a valid Food Safety certification or provincial equivalent.
