Located on the traditional territory of the Tahltan, the Red Chris Mine is a significant operation within Newmont's portfolio. With several designated marshalling points within BC, including Nanaimo, Vancouver, Kelowna, Kamloops, Prince George, Smithers, and Calgary, AB, the mine offers excellent career opportunities while respecting local communities and traditions.
Under the direction of the TIA Construction Superintendent, the Labourer - TIA will support tailings dam construction activities. Responsibilities include site logistics support, material transportation, light plant setup, and general clean-up duties.
- Assist TIA Construction and Cyclone Sand Dam personnel as directed by the supervisor
- Escort contractor vehicles from the gate to the TIA
- Pick up and transport materials on-site
- Transport and set up light plants to illuminate work areas
- Maintain and clean office, storage, and laydown areas
- Perform other general duties as required
Requirements include,
- Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent preferred
- Mechanical aptitude and experience
- Bobcat/skid steer experience preferred
- Valid driver's license essential
- Experience in an industrial setting and/or operating industrial equipment considered an asset
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Physically fit, able to lift fifty pounds (50lbs)
- Self-directed, motivated, and able to work in all weather conditions
- Comfortable working at heights
