As a labourer, you will perform tasks to support pipeline maintenance operations, including hand digging of hotlines, removal of existing pipeline coating, operating sandblasting units, site set-up, setting up hoarding/fencing, using hand tools, and small machines. Additional responsibilities include:
- Loading and unloading construction materials and equipment for transport
- Acting as a spotter for trucks and heavy equipment
- General clean-up and ongoing maintenance of work area
- Ensuring work is completed within deadlines
- Flexibility with duties to support project requirements
Qualifications for the pipeline labourers include,
- 1-2 years of labour experience (ideally within pipeline maintenance scope)
- Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs
- Demonstrated ability to work under minimal supervision
- Valid class G driver's license with a clean driver's abstract
- Willingness to obtain TDG, Defensive Driving, First Aid Level C, and WHMIS certifications
General work conditions include,
- Project based in various locations across Ontario, with a meeting point in North Bay
- Overnight stays away from home are required
- Work primarily outdoors in various weather conditions
- Subject to overtime, extended work hours, and work weeks as needed
