Fly in and fly out remote camp jobs at the Kearl Oil Sands. They are seeking heavy equipment operators (excavator) for two week work rotations. Great pay rates and benefits including remote camp accommodations and covered fly in and fly out transportation to Fort McMurray.

  • Two week work rotations with 12-hour shifts (paid for 11.5 hours)
  • Remote camp accommodations with meals and lodging

  • Combined rate of pay up to $58.16/hour

The Heavy Equipment Operator (Excavator) will be responsible for operating excavators of various sizes and models to perform assigned tasks. This includes reading stakes, placing grades, ensuring compliance with safety policies, using appropriate safety equipment, conducting equipment checks, and reporting any issues to the maintenance team.

Requirements for the excavator operators at the Kearl Oil Sands include,

  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience operating large excavators (350 to 890 or larger)
  • Preferred experience in a mining environment for at least one year
  • Ability to work effectively in a production environment
  • Proficient in excavating ditch slopes and grading
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow safety protocols
  • Effective communication skills in English, both verbal and written
  • High school diploma, GED, or post-secondary education considered an asset
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License
