Join Ledcor's team for a large-scale construction project in Fort McMurray, Alberta. Ledcor is hiring ironworkers (apprentice or journeyman) from across Canada. 14/7 work rotations with covered flights and camp accommodations. This project runs through Summer 2025, offering competitive wages and comprehensive benefits.
This large construction project in Fort McMurray involves the erection of structural steel structures, pre-assembly panelization, bridges, and gangways. Join a team that offers an integrated range of services from construction, engineering, and maintenance to pipe fabrication and module assembly.
- 14/7 work rotation with 10-hour workdays
- Charter flights from Edmonton or Calgary, or travel allowance for eligible workers
- Site based camp accommodations provided
- Work primarily outdoors in various weather conditions
- Project end date set to summer 2025
- Benefits including extended health coverage, dental, optical, prescription drug plan, short-term and long-term disability, life insurance, accidental death and disability coverage, and emergency travel (as per existing collective agreement with CLAC)
- Journeyperson Ironworkers
- $51.00 per hour; overtime rates apply after 8 hours/day at 1.5 times wage rate (as per existing collective agreement).
- Apprentice Ironworkers
- $35.70-$45.90 per hour; overtime rates apply after 8 hours/day at 1.5 times wage rate (as per existing collective agreement).
Required work and responsibilities for the ironworkers include,
- Erect steel to complete structural steel structures, pre-assemble panelization, bridges, and gangways
- Read blueprints, drawings, and specifications to correctly erect structures
- Previous experience with layout, man lifts in congested areas, and connecting mods is considered an asset
- Rigging and heavy lift experience: working with construction cranes, derricks, and other hoisting equipment
- Ensure that work is completed within deadlines
- Communicate work progress and safety performance to site supervision
- Be flexible with duties to support project requirements
