• Proven experience in stripping overburden, stacking, stockpiling, and reclamation in active mine sites
• Road building, cut fills, staking, and understanding dirt conditions
• Sloping, grading, and operating GPS equipment
• Identification and mitigation of hazards using JSA and hazard analysis
• Safe and efficient operation of large mine-sized equipment
• Inspection and maintenance of equipment to ensure functionality and safety
• Operating in varied weather conditions and handling noise and vibrations
• Repetitive lifting up to 50lbs and potential for 12-hour workdays

Qualifications for the heavy equipment operators include,

• Minimum 3 years of experience operating heavy equipment in civil or mining construction
• Experience with specific equipment models (D6-D10 dozers, 336, 349, 390 excavators, 14-16 H/M series graders)
• Required certifications: CSTS-09/OSSA Regional or BSO/CSO, Intermediate First Aid, H2S Alive, Ground Disturbance Level 2, Bear Awareness (in class)
• Ability to work outdoors in diverse weather conditions
• Own CSA approved 6" lace-up steel-toed safety boots
• Valid photo ID and willingness to undergo alcohol, drug, and fit-to-work testing
• Comfort with remote accommodations and rotational schedules
