Dexterra is looking for dedicated general labourers for a remote camp job opportunity in Nunavut. This position features a 3 weeks on, 3 weeks off rotation, and offers a unique work experience in the Canadian Arctic with travel provided from Montreal.

Dexterra is seeking dedicated general labourers to support their Maintenance Team at a historical remote location in Nunavut. This fly-in, fly-out remote camp job offers a unique opportunity to work in the Canadian Arctic on a 3 weeks on, 3 weeks off rotational schedule, with flights provided from Montreal, Quebec.

As a labourer, you will be responsible for general labour duties, as assigned by the Facilities Foreman. Your tasks will include maintaining lodging facilities, kitchen equipment, and water, fire, and waste systems.

  • Perform various physical tasks to assist the maintenance team
  • Assist with day-to-day maintenance in guest rooms and bathrooms
  • Help the kitchen team with inventory management and equipment maintenance
  • Support special projects during the summer months
  • Load, unload, and move materials and supplies
  • Remove scrap materials and keep work areas clean and tidy
  • Use basic hand tools and potentially heavy-duty equipment like Skidsteers and Loaders
  • Adhere to all legislative and company safety policies and procedures

Qualifications for the labourers include,

  • Good mechanical skills with good eye/hand coordination
  • Ability to lift 45 lbs comfortably, walk and stand for long periods, and perform physical work
  • Experience using basic hand tools is an asset
  • Strong planning, organization, and execution skills
  • Experience working in remote locations is an asset
  • Ability to develop and maintain positive interpersonal relationships and work independently or within a team
  • Inuit cultural awareness, knowledge, and respect
  • Flexibility to meet site requirements, including potential rotational shift changes and "on-call" duties
  • Ability to pass a drug and alcohol test, and medical review prior to work
