Fly in and fly out remote camp oil sands mining jobs in Alberta at the Kearl Oil Sands project. NACG is seeking Heavy Equipment Operators (Dozer Operators) to work on 14 days on and 14 days off rotations. Kearl Oil Sands Project

The Kearl Oil Sands project, located north of Fort McMurray in Alberta, is a large-scale oil extraction venture operated by Imperial Oil. The project utilizes advanced technology to extract bitumen from the oil sands, producing significant quantities of crude oil.

As a Dozer Operator, you will be responsible for operating D9 to D11 Dozers and various sizes and models of dozers required to complete assigned work. Your duties will include providing shovels with support as requested, reading stakes and placing grades as needed, and ensuring compliance with all company, client, and legislated safety policies, operating standards, and procedures.

You will use adequate and suitable safety equipment, including PPE, and review safe work plans/hazard assessments prior to job commencement, following all requirements. Additionally, you will complete equipment/area walk-arounds, safety checks, and field-level risk assessments, ensuring all equipment is running properly. Reporting any necessary or anticipated repairs to the maintenance team or supervisors immediately, and reporting all incidents, near misses, or damage immediately, is also part of your role.

To qualify for this position, you must have a minimum of 2 years of experience operating D9 to D11 sized Dozers and at least 1 year of experience working with mining shovels. Previous experience operating in muskeg/soft ground conditions is required, and a minimum of 1 year of experience in a mining atmosphere is preferred. You should be able to follow instructions to ensure safe equipment operation, possess a safety-first attitude, and have strong attention to detail.

A high school diploma, GED, and/or post-secondary education is considered an asset. Proficiency in English, both verbal and written, and a valid Class 5 Driver's License are also required.
