Morgan Construction and Environmental Ltd. is seeking experienced demolition labourers for an upcoming project in Fort Simpson, Northwest Territories. This position involves performing manual hand demolition work to support the demolition and decommissioning of a building and infrastructure at the site. Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform hand demolition, breaking materials into panels, measuring, cutting, and pulling apart structures
  • Carry, stack, and load materials
  • Receive long line debris from a helicopter
  • Demonstrate good judgment and problem-solving skills
  • Follow job procedures and locate written work procedures if in doubt
  • Work safely, responsibly, and cooperatively with co-workers
  • Perform any other duties or tasks as assigned by the Supervisor

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a labourer in the demolition industry
  • Proven experience with demolition activities
  • Torch cutting experience preferred
  • Familiarity with demolition hand tools
  • Asbestos abatement experience is an asset
  • Ability to identify hazards on sites and complete JSA's and hazard assessments
  • Must have (or be willing and able to obtain) CSTS-09 / OSSA Regional Orientation or BSO or CSO, Intermediate First Aid, Chainsaw Ticket, Bear Awareness (in class)
  • Must have own safety boots (6" lace-up steel toed, CSA Approved)
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license and clean driver's abstract
  • Ability to safely and repetitively lift up to 50 lbs
  • Pre-employment alcohol, drug, and fit-to-work assessment is required

Working Conditions:

  • Work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Willingness to work in a remote setting on a rotational schedule
  • Ability to work up to 12 hours a day
  • Accommodation provided
