The BHP Jansen Potash Mine, located in Saskatchewan, is planned to be developed in multiple phases. The initial phase will produce four million tonnes of potash per year, eventually reaching a capacity of eight million tonnes annually, making it the world's largest potash mine.
As a Heavy Equipment Operator, you will be responsible for operating Excavators, Dozers, and/or Graders, performing mechanical inspections and servicing, and ensuring safe and efficient operation in crowded, fast-paced environments.
- Operate Excavators, Dozers, and Graders safely and efficiently
- Perform GPS Excavator cutting ditches and grading slopes
- Perform GPS Dozer finishing for crowning roads and laydowns
- Utilize machine-specific controls and attachments
- Interpret verbal and non-verbal communication (including hand signals) from operators and ground personnel
- Perform mechanical inspections, servicing, maintenance, and adjustments
- Conduct field-level pre-job hazard analysis and identify potential hazards
Requirements for heavy equipment operators at the Jansen Potash Mine include,
- Minimum 3 years of experience in heavy civil/earthworks projects
- Finishing experience for Excavator, Grader, and Dozer operators
- Ability to work under minimal supervision
- Successful completion of pre-access drug and alcohol testing and criminal background check
